Our Story

MITAS is a second-generation, family-founded software company with deep roots in housing finance and loan servicing. Established in 1969 by Harold Mitas, the company has grown alongside the industry it serves, with a third generation now actively learning and contributing to the business. This continuity has allowed MITAS to combine decades of institutional knowledge with a forward-looking approach to technology and service.

 

MITAS began serving Housing Finance Agencies (HFAs) in 1983, and those first HFA customers remain clients today — a testament to long-term partnerships built on trust, performance, and results. Today, MITAS supports well over 100 clients across more than 25 states, including state and local HFAs, public-sector entities, and private-sector lenders.

 

Our platform delivers a comprehensive, enterprise-wide solution designed to meet the needs of today’s housing organizations. MITAS supports loan servicing, homeownership programs, multifamily programs, and full accounting, all within a single, integrated system. Our loan servicing solutions span all markets, from traditional mortgage loans to commercial, seller-financed, and hard money lending, providing flexibility for diverse program structures and portfolios.
