The Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise invites you to
join your friends and neighbors of McKinney, in displaying the
American Flag on the 5 major holidays of Memorial Day, Flag Day,
Independence Day, Labor Day / Patriot Day, and Veteran's Day.
The Flag Lease Program is a service project
of the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise. Rotarians are dedicated business
men and women who provide humanitarian services to people throughout our community and our
world. Locally, the proceeds of the Flag Lease Program have been used to support the
Samaritan Inn, Boy Scouts, Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) and Camp Enterprise, Rotary Youth Exchange programs, McKinney
Education Foundation teacher grants, Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney, Avenues Counseling Center, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life
fundraiser, Boys and Girls club of Collin County and the Rotary Christmas Angel program for 450 economically-disadvantaged students in the Mckinney ISD.
Globally, the funds are used to purchase wheelchairs for disabled persons, immunize children in developing countries against Polio, assist developing
countries with clean water and provide support for an orphanage in Mexico.
You help make all of this possible by supporting the on-going
Flag Lease Program in McKinney.
When you lease a flag, we will insert a PVC
plastic sleeve with a cap in the ground near your front curb. No brackets
or fixtures are attached to your home. On each of the five holidays, a 3' x
5' U.S. flag mounted on a 10 foot metal pole is placed in the sleeve. We display the flags, store, and maintain them. It is all done for you.
The flags remain the property of the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise. It is an awesome sight when every home on the street has a
flag. Visit Hills Creek and Arbor Glen in Stonebridge on the next holiday
to see how impressive the program has become over the years.
